Delaunay

I love the Delaunays’ use of shapes, lines and color! Their pieces are great examples for abstract artwork.  My middle school students worked on creating their own compositions using lines and circles. It was a great project to practice using watercolors.

Here’s a couple works we looked to for inspiration.

Robert Delaunay - Rythme, Joie de vivre
Huile sur toile, 1930. Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris. Donation Sonia Delaunay et Charles Delaunay 1964.
