Moon Chimes

First graders made wind chimes! Nearly one hundred students created an Earth and moon shapes in order to later assemble as their wind chime. This project correlated with first grade curriculum and was a great process for students to participate in.  As the clay changes from gray to white and the glaze from dull to shiny this project opens the door to many science questions about ceramics.  Once the pieces were fired, teachers used fishing line to assemble the wind chime.
