Moon Phases

For this project, a moon template is on one side of the paper and students paint the entire back side.  This is a similar method I use for creating Eric Carle inspired art.  First graders painted the entire paper with different shades of blue and purple, then they stamped objects in white to create patterns and texture.  First grade was studying the moon, so there were four different moon phases for students to cut out once the paint was dry.

These are the templates on the back of the painted paper.
