Triptych Pumpkins

These fall pumpkins were a fun project for students.  We used three different mediums for this project.  Students were able to compare watercolors, oil pastels, and color pencils.  Students were encouraged to blend colors and use several colors to add detail to their pumpkins.  The final product came out very nice and each was unique. Each pumpkin was completed without a pencil, giving students the challenge of jumping into a project.  Students learned the art word “triptych”, though not in its traditional sense.
