Aztec Sun

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month this fourth grade class created Aztec suns.  We used chalk pastels, Sharpies and a lot of hand wipes.  The wipes definitely help keep the artwork cleaner.  We talked about warm colors, cool colors, straight lines and wavy lines.

These suns below were created by 5th graders.

This is the second grade version of a similar project. Students followed the directed draw instructions, cut squares for the moon side and painted the black background.
